Botanical Jewelry – Nature as a Muse
There's jewelry that sparkles, and there's jewelry that connects. Botanical jewelry is exactly that: a loving connection to nature, to life, to yourself. In a world that is often loud and fast, nature gives me something completely different – silence, strength, beauty. And that's exactly what I want to make tangible in my jewelry.
Botanical Jewelry – Real Leaves, Real Stories
When I talk about botanical jewelry, I mean pieces that are directly inspired by real plants and leaves – or rather: made by them. Every leaf I use is a true one-of-a-kind. Just as we humans are unique, each leaf exists only once in this world. It's something special to adorn yourself with a piece of jewelry that makes this uniqueness palpable. At the same time, with every piece, you carry a bit of nature with you – its energy, its calm, its strength. All of this can accompany you through your everyday life and support you.
My Inspiration from Nature
Every day, I walk with my dog Buppi through meadows and forests. I collect leaves and plant parts that particularly catch my eye – be it for their shape, their structure, or simply the energy they radiate. Sometimes I also take trips to nearby areas or visit the botanical garden to specifically look for unusual plants.
It's a slow, mindful discovery. I take my time to see, feel, and marvel. Often, I already sense when collecting whether a leaf wants to transform into a piece of jewelry. And sometimes it surprises me later when I examine it closely in my workshop. That's what makes botanical jewelry so alive for me.
How My Botanical Jewelry is Made
Once I have selected and examined a leaf, the actual transformation begins in my workshop. With loving precision, I cast the leaf directly in recycled silver in several layers. This process allows me to capture every detail true to nature: the delicate leaf veins, the edge, the characteristic shape.
After firing at almost 1000 degrees, I finally hold the raw silver leaf in my hands. From there, it continues – I process it into a ring, a pendant, a brooch, or a pair of earrings. Every step is handcrafted, every piece is unique – just like the leaf that served as its model.
My botanical jewelry is therefore not only inspired by nature, but made directly from it.
Plants that Accompany – Meaning & Symbolism
Plants and their forms have held deep meaning for humans since ancient times. In many cultures, they were attributed special powers: protection, healing, love, wisdom. Botany is more than pure science – it is also a language of feelings, memories, and an inner connection to the earth.
Here are some examples from my collection of botanical jewelry:
Sage – stands for clarity, purification, and protection. Its energy helps to let go of the old and focus on the essentials.
Ginkgo – a symbol of resilience, steadfastness, and hope. The ginkgo has two sides – like us humans – and reminds us that we can continue to grow despite challenges.
Lady's Mantle – feminine, delicate, yet powerful. It symbolizes security, protection, and the inner strength of femininity.
Birch – the pioneer among trees. It stands for new beginnings, light, and youthful freshness.
Ground Ivy – a powerful, often overlooked herb that stands for inner strength, perseverance, and the small wonders along the way.
In total, I work with over 40 different types of leaves – each with its own story, shape, and energy. And the best part: I can also transform your very own personal leaf into a piece of jewelry – a true piece of botanical jewelry with your story.
Your Personal Leaf – Your Unique Botanical Jewelry
Imagine your husband giving you a four-leaf clover during a walk – and you have that very leaf immortalized in silver. Or you always played with your sister under the old linden tree in the garden as a child – and now you find a leaf from it again. Such memories are precious.
You can bring me your leaf or send it by mail, and I will create your very own piece of jewelry – a true one-of-a-kind. Made from recycled silver or, if desired, gilded with 24-carat gold. This transforms a moment into a lasting memory, a gesture into a companion for life. And your botanical jewelry carries not only your story but also a piece of nature within it.
Care Instructions for Your Botanical Jewelry
To enjoy your jewelry for a long time, it's best to avoid water. The colorings, especially on gilded or patinated pieces, change over time and can become darker. This is not harmful – but it changes the look. It's best to store your jewelry in a box or jewelry case, protected from light and air.
Botanical Jewelry as an Expression of Your Connection to Nature
Botanical jewelry is more than an accessory – it is a piece of nature that accompanies, strengthens, and adorns you. Every ring, every pendant tells a story and brings a small piece of nature into your everyday life.
Perhaps the fine structure of the nettle appeals to you? Or you love the energy of mugwort? Perhaps it's the powerful maple leaf, the exotic shape of the fig, or the wild, climbing hop – all these leaves can be found in my collection of botanical jewelry.
Let nature inspire you – and find your very own leaf jewelry piece with me. Your botanical jewelry is waiting to be discovered.
