Handmade natural jewelry combined with pearls
That's why I really wanted to add pearls to my natural jewelry and thought of some very unique flower shapes. The pearls can be added to these flower shapes very elegantly.
Calyx rings with pearl
You can find several rings with a variety of flower shapes in the online shop, including the flower cup rings. These have very small flower shapes sitting on the ring rail. Either one or two flower cups, each filled with pearls. These rings are made either in bronze or silver .
Flower rings with and without pearl
The flower rings have slightly larger flower shapes, are attached solely to the ring band and are available with or without a pearl, depending on what you prefer. If you want something simpler, choose the version without a pearl.
Formation of pearls
Pearls are formed from a mussel's defensive reaction to a foreign body. They cover the body with mother-of-pearl until a pearl is formed. This process takes years, depending on the size of the pearl.
Shine of a pearl
The term “luster” refers to the noble shimmer or shine of a pearl. The more beautiful and clear this is, the higher the quality of the pearl.
The second quality feature of a pearl is called “Orient” and describes the inner shine of the pearl.
Pearls have been popular for thousands of years
The Greeks and Romans already revered pearls. The Greeks believed that pearls were the dewdrops of the moon and the Romans called pearls the fruits of the goddess of love, Venus.
Pearls are associated with many ideals of beauty. They are associated with purity and beauty, but also with luck and wealth. In the past, only very wealthy people could afford pearls and so pearls were considered a status symbol for a long time.
Cultured pearls
The first cultured pearls appeared in Japan over a hundred years ago, and even today there are still many pearl farms in China, Japan and Australia. This is mainly because naturally growing pearls are becoming increasingly rare.
Pearl jewelry care
Pearls should be handled with great care and with great caution. They come from the water, but ultimately they do not like to come into contact with water. Chlorine in particular causes great damage to the surface of the pearls and can destroy them forever.
Make pearls shine again
It is relatively easy to restore the shine of a pearl. Simply clean the pearls carefully with a mild soapy water and then rinse with clean water. Allow them to dry thoroughly and then polish them with a very soft cloth. This will restore their natural and beautiful shine.
Long-term exposure to direct sunlight is also not recommended for pearls and can damage their shine.
