How Lady's Mantle Tea Can Change Your Life: 7 Impressive Benefits

Relief from menstrual cramps

Lady's mantle tea is known for its antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties. It can help reduce abdominal pain and cramps during menstruation. Many women report less severe pain and overall better well-being when they regularly drink lady's mantle tea. The calming effect on the abdominal muscles can offer natural relief, especially for severe menstrual cramps.

Promoting hormonal balance

Tea made from lady's mantle can support hormonal balance. This is particularly helpful for hormonal fluctuations that can occur during the menstrual cycle, during menopause, or with other hormonal changes. Lady's mantle contains phytohormones that act similarly to the body's own hormones and can thus promote balance in the body. Many women use the tea to regulate their hormones naturally and alleviate associated complaints.

How is Lady's Mantle tea prepared?

What you need:

  • Fresh lady's mantle leaves from your garden
  • A knife or scissors
  • A sieve or tea filter
  • A kettle or pot
  • A teacup

Steps:

  1. Harvest the leaves: Pick some fresh lady's mantle leaves from your garden. It is best to harvest the leaves in the morning, after the dew has dried, but before the sun is too strong. This ensures that the leaves retain their maximum freshness and effectiveness.
  2. Wash the leaves: Wash the harvested leaves thoroughly under running water to remove dirt and any insects. Shake the leaves gently to remove excess water.
  3. Chop the leaves: Cut the washed leaves into small pieces. This helps to release the active ingredients better when the tea is brewed.
  4. Bring water to a boil: Fill a kettle or pot with fresh water and bring it to a boil. Use about 250 ml of water per cup of tea you want to prepare.
  5. Pour over the leaves: Place the chopped lady's mantle leaves in a sieve or tea filter and place it in your teacup. Slowly pour the boiling water over the leaves so that they are all well moistened.
  6. Let the tea steep: Let the tea steep for about 10 minutes. The longer the tea steeps, the more intense the taste and effect.
  7. Strain the tea: Remove the sieve or tea filter with the leaves from the cup. Your lady's mantle tea is now ready to drink.

Additional tips:

  • Sweeteners: If you wish, you can sweeten the tea with a little honey, maple syrup or another sweetener to taste.
  • Lemon juice: A splash of fresh lemon juice can add a pleasant freshness to the tea and at the same time improve the absorption of the active ingredients.
  • Tea variant: You can also use dried lady's mantle leaves if you don't have fresh ones available. In this case, use about one teaspoon of dried leaves per cup of water.

When should you not drink lady's mantle tea?

During pregnancy

Although lady's mantle tea can be helpful after birth, it is often recommended to drink it during pregnancy only after consulting a doctor or midwife. In early pregnancy, it should rather be avoided due to its possible effect on the uterus.

In case of a known allergy

If you are allergic to lady's mantle or plants from the rose family (Rosaceae), you should not drink the tea.

During breastfeeding

There are no comprehensive studies on the safety of lady's mantle tea during breastfeeding. Therefore, consult your doctor before drinking the tea if you are breastfeeding.
