Maple, ginkgo and sage: My jewelry from nature – for you

Here in Austria, it is of course our Empress Sissi who we think of first when we think of a princess. And Sissi also loved jewelry - and nature. The famous silver stars in her hair were modeled on the blossoms of the small edelweiss, this modest flower that can be found in our Austrian mountains.

When I roam through the forests and meadows with my dog ​​Buppi , I am surrounded by all these wonderfully blooming and fragrant mountain flowers. In the forests I walk under the green canopy of maple, oak and linden trees. The ancient, hard rock beneath my feet gives me support and strength. I love nature and can spend hours marveling at its beauty, at the details and uniqueness contained in just one leaf or flower.

I incorporate this joy and love into my jewelry. Actually, I am not the master, but nature itself: it gives me the shapes and ideas from which I make my gold and silver leaf jewelry and my flowers.

Whether as a ring, pendant, bracelet or earring: All pieces are unique and carefully crafted by hand.

Handmade jewelry: an ancient tradition

Gold chains, silver rings, bracelets: our ancestors over 3000 years ago loved to brighten up their hard everyday lives with beautiful things and jewelry. And over the centuries, natural jewelry was and remained popular in high society. The goldsmiths and weavers of the Middle Ages took the beauty that surrounded them as their model: lily blossoms, roses and oak leaves adorned not only rings, but also the clothing of the ladies of the court. The knights' shields adorned their coats of arms, from which oak, maple, linden and even hazelnut leaves and many different flowers shone.

To this day, natural jewelry has a grace and radiance that sets it apart from other types of jewelry. Take a simple linden leaf in your hand while you're out walking and hold it up to the sun: see how it shines in the light? How finely the delicate leaf veins paint a beautiful pattern in the delicate green? Or let's take a very ordinary, inconspicuous herb: sage. This plant divides opinions; some like it, others don't. I adore this plant: it surrounds our house, its scent fills our lives as a tea and kitchen herb. Even if you're not a fan of sage tea: take a leaf, stroke its soft surface, admire its slender shape.

Linden, sage, lady's mantle, ivy and even the unpopular nettle , all of them and many others have been guests in my studio, where my handmade jewelry is created. Not all jewelry suits everyone. That's obvious: we all have different personalities, and jewelry - whether leaf jewelry or something else - is always something personal, something that reflects us. That's why you'll find a variety of different flowers and leaves in my range. The structure of the bark , which differs greatly from tree to tree, also fascinated me and therefore found its way into my collection. Or have you ever noticed how different stones can feel? Some have a silky smooth, flawless surface, others are covered with fine reliefs that can feel rougher - but sometimes more interesting. That's how the stones found their way into my studio.
